Heart of Occupation Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE)
A comprehensive evaluation assessing motor skills, sensory processing, activities of daily living, visual motor, visual perceptual skills...and more, provided by a qualified occupational therapist.
Heart of Occupation’s Approach to IEE
At Heart of Occupation, a qualified occupational therapist provides a thorough, timely approach to developing a comprehensive evaluation to identify a child’s strengths and areas where they need support; the school district must consider the results of the evaluation.
Heart of Occupation utilizes the proper IEE assessment tools and methods, working alongside educators, students, and caregivers, following our 3-step process:
-
Step 1
We gather specific data from caregivers, educators and the child, observational data, plus use various evaluation tools, to build our understanding. The evaluator will perform an extensive record review (if applicable).
-
Step 2
After developing this comprehensive understanding of the child within the school setting, our therapists write a report from record review, interviews, observations, standardized assessments (if applicable), and suggestions for treatment planning. The assessment will be fair and objective.
-
Step 3
Finally, a Heart of Occupation therapist can meet with the IEP team to discuss the results and recommendations, guided by a data-driven IEE process.
